In our first fixture of the term, the U14D team played a very strong Brighton College team. After only one lesson the girls were excited to get play their first netball fixturein over six months.
The first half started slowly for the team, going down fifteen goals. The team worked incredibly hard after a slow quarter one through quarter two and the defence and midcourt grew into the game creating turnovers and misshots frm the opposition.
At half time the target was to sharpen up the play through the middle of the court and to reatin possession better.
The second half of the match was a very strong performance for the team and the effort rates could not be questioned with everyone giving 110%. In quarter three the team scored their sole goal of the game via Lola, still however lost the quarter four goals to one.
At three quarter time, the team talk was short but simple. Win or draw the last quarter, the team believed and gave their all but the Brighton defence stood firm and ended up winning the quarter one nil.
Overall the scoreline ended up at 20-1, however the team played incredibly well and progresed throughout the match which is all I could ask of them.
