Match Report
Roedean School 1st VII vs  Seaford College
On: Tuesday, 07 Nov 2023
Venue: Away

This match was our second match in the Sisters in Sport Competition, we had to win to progress through to the next round. It was looking close from the start, we were playing really well, defensively especially. There were lots of turnovers throughout the court, Lila (GK), Solari (GD) and Maria (WD) in particular were putting pressure on every pass and forcing Seaford to pass back and delay the feed into the circle. We were getting it close to our D but Seaford circle defence were very good at marking our shooters and making it difficult to get the ball into them. Amelia (centre), Izzy (WA) and Zara (WD) were moving the ball well in mid-court, being patient and not forcing the pass. Seaford however were quick to pick off any loop overheads and were turning the ball over. Erin and Alice were being forced high in the D, making them have to shoot from far away, they had a tough job of it. Everyone put in their all and even in the last quarter, didn’t give up and actually forced lots of turnovers. The overall score was a loss 28-10.

Player of the match – Amelia K

Coache’s player – Lila – for an incredible amount of tips and interceptions

Highlight of the match – In the last quarter, Lila tipping the ball 3 times in about 2 minutes, disrupting the Seaford play.
